Switching From Disposables to E-Liquid

Most people expect the switch from disposables to refillable E-Liquid to feel seamless. It rarely does on day one. That is not a problem with the liquid. It is a calibration issue, and it is worth setting honest expectations.

Flavour intensity from a refillable device can feel slightly different at first, particularly if you are used to a specific disposable flavour. Bar-style nic salts are specifically formulated to replicate the flavour profiles that disposable brands use, so they are the closest starting point. Brands like Bar Juice and similar bar salt ranges are worth trying first.

Throat hit varies by device and coil resistance. A 1.0 or 1.2-ohm coil running at 10-13W replicates the tight, restricted draw of a disposable more closely than an open-airflow DTL setup. Most pod kits hit this range by default. If the throat hit feels too gentle, try a slightly higher PG ratio or increase the wattage incrementally.

Nicotine satisfaction is the other variable. If you are used to 20mg disposables, start at 20mg nic salts. Going lower because it sounds more moderate often results in cravings persisting and the switch failing.

Give it a few days before drawing conclusions. It usually takes 3-5 days to adjust to a refillable setup, and the flavour often improves slightly as you find the right settings.
