Cotton Bacon is one of the most respected names in vape wicking. Made from U.S.-grown cotton that goes through a proprietary purification process, it’s designed to remove impurities, natural oils and pesticide residue before it ever touches your coil. The result is a clean, consistent wick that won’t add anything unwanted to your flavour. It comes in easy-to-use strips, making it straightforward to tear, size and fit into almost any build. Two main versions are available: the widely used V2 and the more refined Prime, which we’ll break down below. Whether you’re building on an RDA, RTA or RDTA, Cotton Bacon handles heat well and absorbs juice efficiently, which means fewer dry hits and better performance between re-wicks. We stock the full range here at Legion of Vapers, sourced through authorised UK distributors so you’re always getting the genuine article.
Cotton Bacon built its reputation by solving a real problem. Generic craft cotton and untreated alternatives introduce oils and residue that muddy flavour, especially on low-resistance builds. The purification process strips all of that out, giving rebuilders a neutral, heat-stable base that lets the e-liquid speak for itself.
It’s a reliable, flavour-neutral wick that consistently performs without getting in the way of your build.

We carry the core Cotton Bacon range so you can find the right version for your build style and wattage, all in one place.
Cotton Bacon V2 is the standard-bearer. Each bag contains 10 strips of 4″ purified cotton with a heavy body, meaning it holds juice well and stays put in the coil. It’s well-suited to sub-ohm builds in the 0.15Ω to 0.5Ω range and handles wattages up to 100W comfortably without scorching quickly. If you’re new to Cotton Bacon or building on a mid-power dual-coil RDA, V2 is the natural starting point.
Prime is Cotton Bacon’s refined version, blending a different cotton mix for a slightly faster break-in time and a cleaner first vape straight off a fresh wick. It suits vapers who re-wick frequently or run higher wattages where the cotton needs to recover quickly between puffs. The strip format and sizing remain the same as V2, so if you’ve used V2 before, switching to Prime requires no adjustment to your wicking technique.
Pair your Cotton Bacon with pre-built coils, coil wire, or coil-building tools from our vape accessories category to get everything you need in a single order.
We’ve tested a lot of wicking cotton over the years, and Cotton Bacon consistently delivers clean flavour from the first puff with minimal break-in fuss. The purification process genuinely makes a difference when you’re using high-VG juice or complex flavour profiles where even a slight off-taste is noticeable. It wicks efficiently, handles heat reliably, and a single bag lasts a reasonable amount of time even if you re-wick often.
If you care about flavour accuracy in your builds, Cotton Bacon is one of the easiest upgrades you can make.
The right choice comes down to how often you re-wick, the wattage you’re running, and whether break-in time matters to you. Here’s how to decide.
Start with Cotton Bacon V2. It’s forgiving, straightforward to size, and the heavy body makes it easier to learn the right amount of cotton to use without overcompressing your coil or leaving it too loose. Thread it through the coil, trim flush with the deck, tuck the ends and saturate thoroughly before firing. Our guide to building vape coils covers everything you need if you’re starting from scratch.
If you’re going through cotton regularly or vaping at higher wattages, Cotton Bacon Prime is worth the step up. The faster break-in time means less of that initial slightly muted flavour you sometimes get from a fresh wick, which matters if you re-wick every few days.
Both V2 and Prime handle 70VG/30PG and 80/20 ratios well. The large fibre structure wicks thick juice efficiently, keeping your coils fed even at high power. If you’re noticing dry hits with other cottons at similar wattages, Cotton Bacon’s absorption rate is worth trying. See our guide to avoiding dry hits for additional tips.
Cotton Bacon works very well in RTAs and RDTAs where juice channels need to stay open and the wick needs to sit correctly without blocking airflow. Use slightly less cotton than you think you need, trim carefully, and let the juice fully saturate before your first draw. Our RDA, RTA and RDTA guide covers the setup differences in detail.
Cotton Bacon is an imported U.S. product and, like a lot of popular rebuilding supplies, inferior imitations do circulate. We source exclusively through authorised UK distributors to make sure every bag you receive is the genuine product, in original packaging, with the correct cotton blend inside. You won’t get a repackaged substitute.
We keep Cotton Bacon priced competitively and regularly bundle it with coil wire and building tools so you can stock up without paying over the odds. Check our vape accessories section for current offers.
Orders are dispatched quickly from our UK warehouse. Free delivery is available above a qualifying spend, so it’s easy to add a couple of bags of Cotton Bacon alongside a coil order without paying extra for shipping.
Our team are active vapers who build coils regularly, not a customer service script. If you’re not sure whether V2 or Prime is right for your setup, or you need advice on wicking technique for a specific RTA, get in touch and you’ll get a straight answer from someone who’s actually used the gear.

V2 has a heavier body and is the original formulation, with 10 strips of 4″ purified cotton per bag. Prime uses a refined cotton blend with a faster break-in time, making it better suited to vapers who re-wick frequently or run higher wattages where quick recovery between puffs matters.
No rinsing needed. Cotton Bacon is purified before packaging, which removes oils and residue at the source. Saturate the wick thoroughly with e-liquid before your first fire and you’re ready to go.
Use enough to thread through with slight resistance, but without compressing the coil. The strip should move slightly when you pull it. Too tight restricts juice flow; too loose and you’ll get dry hits. It takes a little practice, but V2’s heavy body makes it easier to judge for beginners.
It can be used for MTL, but the large fibre structure is optimised for sub-ohm and low-ohm builds. For higher-resistance MTL setups, you’ll likely need to thin the strip down considerably before threading it through the coil.
Both V2 and Prime hold up well at higher wattages provided the wick stays saturated. The heat resistance reduces charring, but won’t prevent dry hits if your juice supply can’t keep pace. Keep juice channels open and unobstructed for best results.
Cotton Bacon handles both 50/50 and high-VG e-liquids well. For 70VG and above, the large fibre structure is a clear advantage for keeping the coil fed. See our guide to VG and PG e-liquid ratios if you’re unsure what ratio suits your build.
