Freemax has been building vape hardware since 2013 and is one of the most recognised names in sub-ohm vaping. Based in Shenzhen, the brand built its reputation on flavour-first mesh coil technology and has carried that focus across every product category it produces: sub-ohm tanks, complete vape kits, pod systems, advanced mods, and replacement coils. What sets Freemax apart is its COILTECH platform, an ongoing programme of mesh coil development that has progressed through multiple generations. The result is consistent, dense flavour and vapour production across the range, whether you’re running a beginner-friendly pen kit or a high-wattage mod paired with a Fireluke tank. Through our own testing, we’ve found Freemax hardware delivers above its price bracket for coil lifespan and flavour clarity, which is why it stays a reliable choice for everyday vapers and sub-ohm enthusiasts alike. We stock the full authentic Freemax range, sourced from authorised UK distributors, covering kits, tanks, coils and spare parts.

Freemax earned its reputation by focusing on mesh coil performance at a time when most brands were still using round wire coils. The COILTECH system combines high-purity cotton wicking, lead-free brass contacts, and progressively refined mesh configurations, from single mesh through to sextuple mesh, to maximise contact area between coil and e-liquid. That engineering approach translates directly into the vape: fuller flavour, denser vapour, and coils that hold up longer between replacements.
The brand won Ecigclick’s Best Sub-Ohm Tank award in 2019 for the Mesh Pro, and has continued building on that track record ever since. It’s one of the few hardware brands where the coil tech actually matches the marketing.
Freemax Vape and Pod Kits
Freemax kits cover a wide range of vaping styles, from compact pod kits designed for MTL and RDL vaping with nic salts through to more capable sub-ohm kits built for high VG shortfills and direct-to-lung use. Recent releases in the Rexa series include 1000-1600mAh internal batteries, adjustable airflow, slide-fill refilling and wattage ranges from around 5W up to 30W. They work well straight out of the box and don’t require any prior experience to set up.
Freemax Mods
Freemax mods like the Maxus series are built for experienced vapers who want full output control. The Maxus 3 runs up to 200W, requires dual 18650 batteries, and supports multiple output modes including temperature control. Earlier Maxus models at 50W and 100W cover vapers who want strong performance without going to full high-wattage builds. All include safety protections: short-circuit, over-charge, over-discharge and overheat cutoffs.
Freemax Tanks
The Fireluke series is the core of Freemax’s tank range and remains one of the most consistent sub-ohm tanks available. Across the Fireluke 2, 3 and 4 generations, tanks use Freemax’s mesh coil system with wide open airflow, 2ml or bubble-glass extended capacity options, and top-fill designs. The M Pro series sits at the more advanced end, running COILTECH 4.0 and built for heavy daily use. All are designed for high VG e-liquids and DTL vaping.
Freemax Coils and Pods
This is where the Freemax range gets technical. Coils are grouped by series, each named for the tank they’re designed to fit: FL coils for the Fireluke Solo, X and TX coils for the Fireluke 2 and 3, MS coils for the Marvos series, and M coils for the M Pro range. Resistance options run from 0.15Ω mesh for full DTL sub-ohm vaping up to around 0.8Ω and 1.0Ω for more restricted draws.
Checking your tank series before ordering is important, as coils are not cross-compatible across all Freemax lines. Replacement Rexa pods for current pod kits are also available in multiple resistances.
Freemax Accessories and Glass
Freemax spare parts cover replacement glass tubes for tanks including the Fireluke Solo and M Pro 3, replacement pods for the Marvos CRC and Maxpod kits, and o-ring replacements. If you’ve cracked a tank glass or worn out a pod shell, check this section before replacing the whole unit.

We’ve run Freemax tanks and coils for years and the quality has stayed consistent throughout. The flavour clarity from a fresh Freemax mesh coil is genuinely one of the better experiences at this price point. Sub-ohm coils that need replacing after a week on some other brands regularly last us ten days to two weeks on a Freemax tank with the right e-liquid and a proper prime.
If you want a tank that punches above its cost and coils that genuinely last, Freemax is a dependable choice.
The right Freemax hardware depends on how you vape: your preferred draw style, the e-liquid you use, and how much output you want. Here’s a straightforward breakdown by vaper type.
New to vaping, or stepping away from disposables or cigarettes? The Freemax Rexa Lite or Rexa Nano are solid starting points. Both are compact pod kits with 1000mAh batteries, simple slide-fill refilling and adjustable airflow that suits both MTL and restricted direct-to-lung draws. Pair them with a 10ml nic salt at up to 20mg/ml for the most cigarette-like experience. They’re small, straightforward and easy to carry all day.
Browse our pod kits range for the full selection. If you’re unsure which nicotine strength to start with, our nicotine strength guide covers it plainly.
If you know your way around a vape but want something more capable than a basic pod kit, the Rexa S or Rexa Pro gives you more control: adjustable wattage, larger battery capacity, a proper screen, and the Duomax pod system which has a longer lifespan than standard fixed-coil pods. These work well with nic salts or 50/50 freebase liquids.
Thinking about moving to a tank setup? Our guide to sub-ohm vaping is worth reading first.
The Fireluke tank range is where most experienced Freemax users land. Running a mod at 50-80W with a 70/30 VG/PG shortfill? A Fireluke 3 or Fireluke 4 paired with a 0.15Ω X3 mesh coil is a strong combination. For maximum vapour production at higher wattages, the M Pro 3 with COILTECH 4.0 coils is worth serious consideration. See our shortfills range for compatible e-liquid options.
The Maxus range covers vapers who want full output control. The Maxus 50W is a good entry point into Freemax mod territory: manageable size, internal battery, and temperature control included. If you’re running dual 18650 cells and want up to 200W, the Maxus 3 is the current flagship, supporting multiple output modes and pairing well with the M Pro 3 tank. Our 18650 vs 21700 battery guide is useful if you’re choosing cells for the first time.
Most Freemax hardware is built around DTL and open-airflow vaping, but higher-resistance coil options in the 0.8Ω to 1.2Ω range, available in the Rexa pod line and some older Maxpod coils, do suit a tighter mouth-to-lung draw. Pair higher-resistance coils with a 50/50 e-liquid or nic salt for best results. Our nic salts vs freebase guide can help if you’re deciding between the two.
Every Freemax product in our range is sourced exclusively from authorised UK distributors. That means UKCA and TPD-compliant hardware, authentic coils with the correct cotton and mesh spec, and no grey-market imports that look right in a product photo but perform differently in hand.
Counterfeit Freemax coils are a genuine problem in the UK market. Buying from an authorised retailer is the only way to guarantee you’re getting the real thing. Our guide on fake vapes covers what to watch out for if you’re ever uncertain.
We price Freemax hardware competitively and keep a close eye on coil costs in particular, because running costs matter as much as upfront price. Freemax coils in five-packs work out at a reasonable cost per coil, especially given the lifespan you get from a properly primed mesh coil. Check our clearance section for discounted Freemax lines, and keep an eye on multi-buy offers across coil packs.
We dispatch orders quickly, with free delivery available on qualifying orders. Everything ships from the UK, so you’re not waiting on international delivery times. If you need replacement coils in a hurry or want to try a new tank without a long wait, we’ve got you covered.
Our team are active vapers who use the hardware we sell. We’ve personally run Freemax tanks, burned through Freemax coils and worked out which coil series fits which tank the hard way, so you don’t have to. If you’re unsure which Freemax coil fits your tank, or whether a Fireluke setup is right for your mod’s wattage range, get in touch and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Explore our answers to some frequently asked questions.
Some are, some aren’t. The Rexa Lite and Rexa Nano pod kits are genuinely simple to use and well-suited to new vapers or people stepping away from disposables. Sub-ohm tanks like the Fireluke range and mods like the Maxus are designed for vapers who already understand wattage, coil resistance and e-liquid VG ratios. Our beginner’s guide to vaping covers where to start if you’re new.
Freemax coils are named by series and are mostly tank-specific. FL coils fit the Fireluke Solo, X and TX coils fit the Fireluke 2 and 3 series, MS coils fit the Marvos tanks, and M coils fit the M Pro range. Always check your tank generation before ordering. If you’re not sure, contact us and we’ll confirm the right match.
For tanks like the Fireluke 3 or M Pro 3 running 0.15Ω to 0.2Ω mesh coils, a high VG shortfill at 70VG/30PG is the right choice. Lower-resistance coils need a thicker liquid to wick properly. Thin 50/50 liquids can cause dry hits at high wattage. Our high VG e-liquid range is a good starting point.
A well-primed Freemax mesh coil typically lasts 10 to 14 days under regular daily use with an appropriate high VG liquid. Chain vaping and sweetener-heavy e-liquids shorten that significantly. Proper priming before first use is the single biggest factor. Our coil priming guide covers the full process.
COILTECH is Freemax’s proprietary coil development platform. Each generation refines the mesh configuration, cotton purity and material spec. COILTECH 4.0, found in the M Pro 2 and M Pro 3 tanks, uses advanced mesh material and higher-purity cotton for better flavour consistency and longer lifespan compared to earlier generations. It’s a meaningful engineering difference, not just a label.
Some Freemax mods do. The Maxus 50W and Maxus 100W kits include temperature control modes alongside standard variable wattage. Temperature control requires a TC-compatible coil material, typically stainless steel, nickel or titanium. Our temperature control vaping guide explains how it works and whether it’s worth using for your setup.
