Common RTA Mistakes

Most RTA problems trace back to a handful of recurring wicking and setup errors. Knowing them upfront saves a lot of trial and error:

• Too much cotton – blocks the juice channels and causes gurgling or a starved wick
• Too little cotton – allows liquid to bypass the wick, leading to leaking through the airflow
• Coil too high – can catch the top cap or restrict airflow, affecting flavour and draw
• Coil too low – sits too close to the juice channels, increasing the risk of flooding
• Over-tightening the tank – can crack glass sections or strip threading over time
• Incorrect wattage – firing above what your wire and wick can handle leads to dry hits and burnt cotton
